Community Suggestions - 9/14/19

Okay… this is take #4. Hopefully it stops there and I don't lose my document while talking about chocolate sauce with server moderators.

Hey guys, T1K here. So, I'm a little tired, but I figured I'd type up a suggestion document to make myself fall asleep easier when 7 AM rolls around. So here goes. This thread goes through any suggestion I feel deserves worth noting, related to the Discord server and bit of sprucing up in the forums department. I will do a new thread on the gaming side of things when I play them more. It's gonna be a somewhat long one, so manspread to your heart's content (you too, ladies), and waste your time here instead of mining!

Disclaimer: These are suggestions. Some are not as serious as others, and some are no more than random thoughts. Take that with a grain of salt. Feedback is encouraged.

DISCORD SUGGESTIONS
• Inserting some new perks for Donators, as they're definitely lacking
- Silver Donor+ may have a custom color (excluding invisible ones for security and punishment reasons)
- Gold Donor+ may have own a faction in the Minecraft servers (if the donations stop, they may be passed to someone else, or if nobody else is nominated, deleted)
• Introducing a form of economy bot (Unbelievaboat is a good option) for a form of Discord economy that makes the Discord server more engaging
• Sorting the channels in a more clean and organized manner
• Precise categories
• More voice channels
• A Rules/Guidelines set of channels
- One dedicated to normal Discord rules
- One for gaming, explaining things that cross the line and the corresponding punishments
• Introducing the Dyno bot
- More precise automatic moderation
- Much cleaner UI
- Same features as Mee6
Note: Dyno and Mee6 work better together, so I don't mean for Mee6 to be replaced
• If I remember correctly, the server is called UNDERVIEWS, and only the forums are named UNDERFORUMS, so the Discord should be UNDERVIEWS as well
• Remove the Minecraft and Terraria server channels, instead making an easy access channel, that includes a link to the forums, Minecraft and Terraria servers, and Patreon

FORUMS SUGGESTIONS
• A moderator application tab
- Would require either level 5 or 10 (Mee6 leveling system), and reasonable time in the community
- Would include scenarios based around situations possibly seen while dealing with people in Terraria, Minecraft, and Discord
- Would start as a Helper and make their way up after being taught the ropes by higher up members
- If your application is denied, you may not reapply for at least one week. If you do, you may be blacklisted
Note: There would be a set template to follow, and it must be taken seriously. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation are a must. There's no excuse to not use Google if you don't know something
• A better color scheme
- Move away from the monochrome and get some nice server theme colors (the orange in the Discord logo would look nice in the forums)

Thanks for taking the time to make a suggestions thread. We're less than a month old, so we're extremely appreciative of critical opinions and suggestions.

Lucky enough, we're working on almost everything you've mentioned.

We're definitely working on this. Soon the trusted Terraria world will be closed and made Donor-only to provide a slower, peaceful, moderated environment. The plot server will also feature lots of new features for Donors, we're just planning the best way to roll them out.

Have any suggestions? What's the purpose of this?

I'll be asking @Zorf for some help on making this easier today/tomorrow! Any specific recommendations?

This is a great idea.

A slight edit. I recently discovered Dyno is already in there. So scratch that. I have two more suggestions.
• Make a report tab in the forums and/or in the Discord
• Give the Helper role access to the ?mute command with Dyno

youngseebi Thanks for the consideration! Unbelievaboat makes a separate mini-economy with Discord, using commands to make money in it. There's definitely better bots out there for it, but that's the one I know. It just gives people something extra to do in Discord. As for sorting, I have ideas that I could suggest, but for the most part there's just little teensy changes that I see making an improvement. For the most part, it's not bad, just could be better.
